2. Your library
Articles, images, highlights, notes, tags and reading settings are stored on your device. If iCloud is turned on, they sync through your private iCloud database (Apple CloudKit) under your Apple Account. This data is processed by Apple according to Apple’s Privacy Policy. The developer has no access to it. You can delete it at any time in the app or in your iCloud storage settings.
3. Saving articles
When you save a link, your device connects directly to that website to download the page, its images and its icon – just as your browser would. The website’s operator receives the usual technical information, such as your IP address. Nothing passes through servers operated by UmiRead.
If you choose “Load from archive.today” for an article, your device fetches the archived copy from archive.today instead and does not contact the original website. archive.today then receives the link and your IP address.
4. On-device features
Summaries and tag suggestions use Apple Intelligence and are created entirely on your device. No text is sent to the developer or to third parties for these features.
5. No tracking
The app contains no analytics, advertising, tracking or third-party SDKs and does not use device identifiers for tracking. If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers, Apple may pass us anonymous crash reports. You can turn this off at Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements.

7. Contacting support
If you email us, we use your email address and message only to answer you (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR) and delete them once your request is resolved, unless we are legally required to keep them.
8. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and to object to processing. You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, for example the Hamburg Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information. As the app collects no data about you, these rights mainly concern emails you send us.
9. Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with an updated date.
